about

Moritat was the second CD of the Tá Lam Project. This time 7 woodwinds plus Swiss accordion genius Hans Hassler.
Tá Lam Acht toured quite a bit in Central Europe before I added 2 more woodwinds for the legendary North American tour in 1998 ( the concert at the Vancouver Jazz Festival during the tour was documented on the Leo CD 'The Vancouver Concert' ).
This CD features a lot of new compositions of mine for the first time in 'orchestral' arrangements which I re-recorded over time with other line-ups and in different versions.

The beautiful cover paintigs are by Lillian Mousli.

" Tá Lam is a bracing cocktail thrown in your face, full of strong flavours, from tango to cabaret to oddmetered folk melodies to the hard stuff of a strong jazz conviction. "
(Toronto Diary 1998)

" Was diese CD zu einem Meisterwerk macht, ist nicht nur die Vielfalt der Ideen, Stimmungen und Klänge sondern auch die Detailschärfe, der Drang nach vorn, die blitzende Spiellust. "
(Dr. Ulrich Ohlshausen, Frankfurter Rundschau 1995)
